How to Unclog an Epson Printhead manually

Clean dried ink from an Epson EcoTank or Workforce printhead.

Step 1: The Basics

Begin by performing a hard reset on the epson printer. Unplug the printer while it is turned on, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in.

Step 2: Physical Inspection

Open the main access door and check for any glaring physical issues, such as jammed paper, unseated cartridges, or dust buildup.

Step 3: Targeted Cleaning

Use a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol (or distilled water for printheads) to gently clean the affected sensors and contacts.

Step 4: Component Reset

If your epson printer has a manual reset gear or software override (such as the toner reset menu), follow the manufacturer steps to bypass the sensor flag.
